The CDA was happening at this time, and people were turning their web pages black, in protest. That seemed like a dumb approach. I was for just ignoring the CDA. If everyone did that, it would go away, and even if it didn't defying the law seemed better than kowtowing to it.

that is exactly my point. that is a significant form of resistance--refusing to change my content. turning my web pages black is completely insignificant, just one-of-the gang behaviour.
