Hello, neighbor or Berkeley visitor! We
have a lovely cottage here, and we often have a lovely guest in it. We particularly seek a scholar or full-time worker.
This cottage, which is a separate building right behind my house, is up a couple of steps. It consists of two big, sunny rooms: an airy eat-in kitchen with a gas stove and lots of cabinet space, facing a leafy walnut tree, and another big room with a desk, a closet, drawers for clothes, a large mirror, linens, plenty of heat, plenty of light, and DSL.
The bathroom has a full-sized tub and excellent water pressure. We have a washer-dryer. The backyard has a wonderful plum tree, rosebush, blackberries, and so forth.
There is parking on our street, and no permit is required . The block is quiet, friendly, and features children and cats. We are three and a fraction blocks from Ashby BART, and on the Berkeley Bicycle Boulevard Network.
The
neighborhood has an astonishing array of amenities. (See http://Bunk-in-Berkeley.com/neigh_map.html.) Nearby are BART and buses. We are one BART stop from
campus, and it takes me about seven minutes between campus and here by bike.
We share utilities. We prefer to rent to people who are cat- and smoke-free, and whose stays coincide with Cal's semesters/terms (therefore, leases begin and end the Sunday before instruction begins, about May 15 and Aug 15).
A security deposit and rental references are required.
Please tell us a bit about yourself:
for example, where you work or study, the dates you would like to stay (more or less), where you're living now, and so forth. To make sure I see your mail, please use the word cottage in the subject line of your mail. I prefer e-mail to phone but please give me your number just in case.
Thanks!
